Lindy and I decided to take time out from the world and do a trip into Manuka to see a movie and have lunch. It felt like we spent more time on the bus that we did in the movie and I now have appreciation of what it is like using public transport. Its not too bad really apart from some of the smell you encounter. You have to be patient and have a relaxed attitude to do it successfully all the time, I suspect. Like I could really smell cigarette smoke on some people. As I am writing this I'm thinking about the smells in the tropics and the smells on the bus is no where near tropical smells. Lunch was an experience indeed. Every place we went to eat was experiencing angst. First one couldn't find out what the pasta was of the day was because they had over 100 meals to prepare and tempers were frayed. We adjourned to a Japanese place thinking that they might be calmer. Apparently the mother in the kitchen, was giving the daughter a tune up and went on an on... the girl not saying a word. What was it about the day???? Spotted two pairs of funky earrings, miniature portraits of Gough Whitlam and medieval women... totally cool and now I'm thinking shrink art might have to be on my agenda this year as well as all the other stuff.
