Hot Air

Ticked of a few hospitality competencies with the visit from the Crofts. Didn't burn anything, except the candle at both ends. Had a great time and my sister is looking the best I have seen for many years.
Hamish has a quote about marriage which was really cute " There are three rings in a marriage - the Engagement Ring, the Wedding Ring and the suffering....... This is from a 10 year old...

Free Tibet

Saw a plane sky writing on the way to work this morning. I was standing next to an older lady who asked me what it said. When I told her she was very dissapointed. Then I got to work and I said to the young things there that there is sky writing outside and when I told them what it said they all were disapointed too. They said they expected a "Sally, will you marry me?" or some such trivial thing. Very interesting response to all this, I feel.

Riding Busses

Lindy and I decided to take time out from the world and do a trip into Manuka to see a movie and have lunch. It felt like we spent more time on the bus that we did in the movie and I now have appreciation of what it is like using public transport. Its not too bad really apart from some of the smell you encounter. You have to be patient and have a relaxed attitude to do it successfully all the time, I suspect. Like I could really smell cigarette smoke on some people. As I am writing this I'm thinking about the smells in the tropics and the smells on the bus is no where near tropical smells. Lunch was an experience indeed. Every place we went to eat was experiencing angst. First one couldn't find out what the pasta was of the day was because they had over 100 meals to prepare and tempers were frayed. We adjourned to a Japanese place thinking that they might be calmer. Apparently the mother in the kitchen, was giving the daughter a tune up and went on an on... the girl not saying a word. What was it about the day???? Spotted two pairs of funky earrings, miniature portraits of Gough Whitlam and medieval women... totally cool and now I'm thinking shrink art might have to be on my agenda this year as well as all the other stuff.

Beanie

The Catholics want me to knit some beanies for world youth day, so I started one today. If it turns out nice I might keep it for my early morning walks. I hugged two beatiful trees on my way to work this morning and I just wanted to melt into the colours of the leaves and trunks.

4 40+s

Janet sent me this photo from Christmas Day, today. Note the grip on the chair. I was right in the middle of a dizzy spell and no it was not too much grog....
I really like this one because there is some movement in it..

Coronet Breakfast Club

I'm feeling pretty damn confident that I can actually pull off a breakfast for more than 1 person. Lindy Jane came over to do a rerun of the breakfast last Saturday, with out the smoke, of course. No smoke in site but then again no fireman either...

Ive been trying to get myself on track for dads 70Th birthday present that I want to make myself. Its going to be a drawing, poem or water colour, but I just cant get anything coming through. Ive had a though of drawing on hand of each of us in some kind of abstract way. Then I thought about doing something abstract with the tools of his trade. Then I just thought... and thought... nothing is coming.

Ive had 5 different people here in my apartment this weekend and feeling very good about that. Ive been such a hermit for the past 4 years, due to the stalking thing and now I quite like having people around. I even knocked up a chocolate cake that was edible even if it was pretty flat. Doris going to get me sorted on the plunger coffee so I will culturally appropriate the next time she comes over.

Life's good and I am yearning for three pieces of knowledge that is important for my spiritual growth. Hopefully they will surface in the next week or so.

Now 113kg. A friend of mine said to me today you look.....................small. I like that girl.

Id like to be 110 by the end of winter. Or 36, 28, 36. Or 57 98 309 209783 10999983...

Awesome Writing Course

Today I went training. Learning how to write for the Australian Public Service. The most interesting is I learned was about tone and readability. Readability can be worked out on a mathematical formula. Its going to take a bit to digest it all but I think it will improve my communications at work at least.

Three nights ago I had a dream that I was a plane and I was finding it hard to find a landing spot. Then when I landed I couldn't take off again because there was not enough room. Its disturbed me since then. I'm not sure why and what this all means. I hope the ones I love that are traveling will be safe.

Beauty and the Beast

The Foskari lounge is now in my life, and I might sleep on it tonight. Its the nice roundy one on the left side.

Skater boys name is Jim and he has a potential sponsor and might be competing at the end of the year. Its taken him 4 years to learn his special jump and a broken leg. I like this boy, he has dreams.

A Chair Is Not Just A Chair

Last night I had dinner with a family that I just met. Ive been friends with a lady from choir for about 6 months and she invited me for dinner. They were eating at the kitchen table and there were 5 of us all together. Another couple, the couple and me. Because my friend had seated herself and so had the other couple, I didn't know where to sit (head of the table or next to my friend). This stuff stresses me out. They kept saying sit down, but I couldn't until I thought bugger it, Ill just confess that I don't know where to sit. So I said "Can you tell me where to sit because I don't really know where I'm supposed to sit. Lucky my friend said here and started patting the chair next to her. Whew.... but then everything went quiet and so I felt I had to say something about why... so I just said "head of the table and all that stuff".... then everyone looked at each other and starting saying... its not like that here. Well obviously it is like that there because the couple opposite sat together.

Sounds like making a mountain out of a mole hill but its really hard being friends with couples.

I had a nice time tho and the food was nutritious and delicious.
