The Wedding

Last night when I went for my swim at 6:45pm their was a young guy sitting at the reception. Ive only seen girls there before. I said "spoze you are looking forward to the wedding tonight?" Nah, that's why I'm working tonight. So I go into the pool area and apart from staff I'm the only one in there for the whole hour I was there.

This is my pick of the images I have seen so far. Shes looking back one last time to the world before it changes supported by her father and sister. The barrier says this is how it will be.

Kate's brother James, did a fine reading and the Bishop of Londons address:“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” - was inspiring. Check here if you would like to read it. http://gailbhyatt.wordpress.com/2011/04/29/the-bishop-of-londons-address-at-the-2011-royal-wedding

Some of the head gear had me confused. The Queen is still very agile, which surprised me. I laughed when Kate got out of the carriage and the blokes didn't know what to do with the train. Just sort of chucked it on the ground. Laughin!

I quite liked the trees in the abbey. Not sure if they are always there or not.

Old Chap

My sister Simmone has started calling me old chap recently. It got me wondering is it because of the 50 milestone or the up coming royal nuptials? Kind of getting into the whole stiff upper lip, plum in the mouth thing.... So I asked her and she said years ago she used to say "tootle pip, old chap" when I would leave and I do remember it now. So still pondering why the tootle pip faded. pondering....

This is the cake she has made for tonights celebration. Gamin wedding cake for Will and Kate.

Diversity In Reality

Yesterday I saw something I have never seen before. A heavily pregnant girl with Downs Syndrome. She was out and about alone and looked very funky in black tights and a black and white striped overdress. I was looking at the peoples faces as she walked by which ranged from "No" head movements to surprise and not one person smiled at her, except me. So I came home and looked for images for pregnant DS females, girl, parents and could not find one image on the net. There was a picture of one English DS couple who had married and it was made clear that the couple will not be having children. Shes a pioneer that brave girl....

Wooden Spoon Of My Dreams

At last I have found a spoon that not only looks good but doesn't leak stain into the water when boiling. I love the look of old wooden spoons all rounded and soft after years of serving food.

Dreamweavers

I purchased this random CD at the Zine Fare as a lucky dip. This magazine page that contains the CD with the hand drawing discusses how Pakistan approaches traditional family caregivers, especially for people with Alzheimer's. The hand writing on the cover "we are also dream weavers" has taught me something about Alzheimer's I had never thought of. Its a beautiful way to view it. Zines are a souce of inspiration and learning for me.

check it out in You Tube if you can see what she wrote.

Cutest Dress

From now till Sunday morning I go a bit strange so Ill be having a low profile tomorrow, maybe go for a coffee at Brew Bar and read Panorama there. I know all the facts but its the collective meditation on the Crucifixion which in some way causes me to act weird. I know if I were at the Crucifixion that I would have been killed too because I could not stand to see that happen. This little dress and sweet girl make me smile. Well, that and the words another sweet girl I love said "amazing little heart". Ive pondered those words all day long.

My Lovley Moon

Before and After

Tell ya what these plants in one area of our high density living street are really trying hard. Long after all the other Agapanthas have shown their true colours and then set seed this little odd ball tries all by itself to brighten up the neighborhood. Its a big job considering it has to compete with all the bright red and orange leaves around the camp at the moment.

Nifty With The Scissors

Paul's been cutting my hair for the past 5 years and he is a great cutter. Mainly because he does not stick to the hard fast rules and sometimes leaves sticking out bits where they should not be. Its got nuthin to do with being easy on the eyes........................

The Heart Of Things

This is my pick for the Archibald Prize. I love it because its subtle and quirky. Artist is Sonia Kretschmar.

Showing Off

This is my view while I'm on my computer. I know I'm doing Autumn to death for you guys, but last year I realised I took it for granted.

Zine Fair

I had a lovely day at Gorman House yesterday attending the Zine Workshop and Zine Fair. I met up with the young lady again who wrote the Cervexosaurus Zine and got her to sign a copy of it for my collection. She is still giving away her Zines and remembered me from last year at the National Gallery Zine Fair coz I wanted to pay her again.

You can download her zines here http://www.cervixosaurus.com/zines/the-cervixosaurus-zine/ and view her other publications. Its very educational.

Nailed It

All weekend Ive been working on these garlands. I feel as fragile as the garlands. Might be something to do with the fall and the flu shot. Its been so nice to finally be able to produce something I see in my imagination in real life.

3D Garland

This is the prototype for the garlands I want to make. Im thinking I like 2D but at least I have given them a chance and who knows, I might come back to them in the future.

Smackdown

Last Autumn I had a smackdown due to these little round balls that fall off the trees with the autumn leaves, I didn't see it coz I was talking too much. The difference in having a samackdown in Canberra compared to Katherine is that I would have come up swinging in Katherine but in Canberra I just stood up and composed myself and checked the injuries and dusted of the clothes.

Divine Tree

This is beautiful, not only spiritually but aesthetically. The time to make and place them is a healing activity which is important for us all.

"Thousands of wooden prayer tablets, ema, hang outside Meiji Jingu, a Shinto shrine. Japanese are not normally religious, but during times of crisis they often revert back to traditional beliefs. Prayers for disaster victims and the nuclear crisis are written and hung around a divine tree. In a special ceremony, Shinto priests burn the prayers as an offering." // Susie Rain

Loriendale Orchards

Being the good and faithful daughter for my dad, I went to the apple farm today and purchased a heap of apricot jam that he loves. It was a lovely day and there was an orchestra, choirs, and pianists as well as an organic barby, freshly squeezed apple juice made in a 19th century wooden crusher. And this lovely piece of music a young girl played for us and it was so lovely, I had to ask her to write down the name of it and also to play it again. I never get sick of hearing it.
