Starch Packing Peanuts Are Sooo Much Fun

I spent the day at the National Portrait Gallery playing with this stuff. It so much fun and there would be alot of uses in art/sewing for these things. They are made from cornstarch so the dissolve in water but stick together easily. At the gallery we had a cup with a sponge in the bottom where you could dip them in and get the right amount of water for glueing. I was the only adult there who played all day and people come up and asked me what else I had a made and oh, you are still here..... well yes, I like trying new things. Most of the adults were fascinated by it but were too scared to try. The ones that did said I should be using my energy else where.. WANKAS!

Tool

Today my nephew said "your are a tool, Ness"..... that was in response to hows Vesuvius peaking (that's the name I gave the carbuncle he has on his forehead) As soon as he said tool this image of a boomerang came to mind and I thought, yes, that figures, curvy, flying of the handle and delivering an astounding comeback. Sums me up beautifully.

What tool would you be?

Butterflies Are So Essential

The butterfly's attractiveness derives not only from colors and symmetry: deeper motives contribute to it. We would not think them so beautiful if they did not fly, or if they flew straight and briskly like bees, or if they stung, or above all if they did not enact the perturbing mystery of metamorphosis: the latter assumes in our eyes the value of a badly decoded message, a symbol, a sign. ~Primo Levi
