Live Music

Had breaky with the young things next door. Beth invited the whole crew but only the one bed roomed apartment owners came. We compared units and talked about defects and blinds and how to win friends and influence people... gamin.

Then off to lunch at Ailsas, who has just returned from Darwin working on the emergency response. He husband, Greg put on a welcome home party. This couple are really lovely and welcoming. Greg played us a few tunes on the piano and I started bawling. A whole heap of memories came rushing in. Like when i was very little and nanna and pa used to play and Id be pushing my way right in there. Then Greg played, I Don't Know How To Love Him and it all came crashing down in tears. Its so beautiful when people play something for you and I recounted how Muzz had read to me after the flood on my veranda when the power was off and its something I always remember. Greg said that people are buying MP3 stories to play in cars these days and it looks like there is a return to that kind of thing now. Nothing will ever replace something some one does on a the spur of the moment for you tho.

Felting

Very busy day today. Tossing up wheather to go to Weight Watchers or not and finally decided to go. I stayed the same which was good. I have only excersised twice this week. Its a mind game with yourself and I decided not to let myself win.
Then off to felting and had a fantastic time helping restore a banner for a school that had been burnt down. Serena came along to see how it was all done and then we went of to get some lunch and ended up eating a pie, a chocolate muffin followed by a Coke. I don't know why I ate that junk as I didn't enjoy it and it was really tasteless. I did have hunger pains but should of refused to eat it once it tasted so bland.
Then off to African Sanctus Rehearsal and it was good to be back again amongst the faces.
Looking forward to Earth Hour where I will lay on my be in the Dark for 1 hour. I hope I don't fall asleep. Too bad too sad if I do....

Blindman

Rob the Blindman arrived nice and early. He did a wonderfull job and we had some laughs. Like when he saw Marina stylin up on my bed. He said "thats a very unusual doll"! I said Doll? Shes an Art Tart!

Beth my next door neighbour has invited me over for breaky on Sunday. Shes knee high to a grasshopper and I nearly stepped on the sweet lil thing while I was running from blind to blind showing off. She looks really lovely. And its such a nice change from seeing Nannys head.
Oh yeah, and they tried to deliver my lounge to me today but couldn't because the manufacturer didn't let me know it was coming and no one could contact me at work... that because I was home with the blindman. Any way they are going to deliver it next Wednesday as the took it back to Sydney.
It was another bed making day in Paradise today as well....

Serena's Jewels

Spent a lovely time teaching Serena beading. For someone who doesnt have the faith in her ability to create, she did a mighty fine job. And we got alot of problems in the world solved as well.

Fockered Out

Sister invented a new word to discribe interacting with too many people (crowds) "Fockerized" and can also be used to explain how over it you are "all Fockered out" this is very very funny. I luv it. Legend!

Royal Easter Show

Off to Sydney first thing this morning 7am. Cousin Rusty picked me up and delivered me safely to the Jolimont Centre. Once I arrived at Central I heard an old lady saying she was going to the show, so I asked her if I could tag along with her, because I'm scared of the trains and getting lost. Laugh - shes 76 and could talk under water with a mouth full of hobble chains. She was very inspiring as she travels the world and just does what ever she wants and doesn't let anything stand in her way of having and interesting time. She was like a shot in the arm for me. Don't be afraid she said "just get out there and have a good time".

Then I met up with the family and it was my hunky nephew (Hanseys) 19th Birthday. It was so crowded and by 1pm I was getting teasey coz all they had to eat where we were were chips and deep fried stuff and it stunk...

Dennis

Went to Gym at 6:15am , it makes me frisky. As I was walking to work, I saw a boy builder (Dennis) who I had been dealing with recently in his fluro shirt pulling great hunks of dried grass out with his bare hands. As I walked past (sucking in my stomach) I said "good morning Dennis" he looked up and said "you have a good memory" I laughed and said "you make it easy coz your handsome" laugh... he then straighted up and stuck out his chest" Lucky there was a 6 foot fence between us. I kept walking and he called out "you have a great great day"- all smiles. Just before I turned the corner I turned back to see if he was still there and he was ....and with renewed vigor was making short work of that pile of grass....

Then I get down to the shopping centre and there's a 14 yo boy doing tricks on his skateboard, looking like he just jumped outta bed and hair all over his face and matted. He did a jump as I went past and I said "that was awesome" and kept walking. Then I stopped and turned saying "can you please do another one just for me?" The biggest smile and did another jump.

Life's good. The Rosary works and I'm very very happy and contented.

Marina

Marinas leg up on the bedside table, hence the bed wasnt made the smornin. I dont think I have the stamina for bed making. It must be something responsible adults do and show a strong commitment to. Im struggling.

On A Hatrick Now

Second day in a row the bed has been pandered to. Extra set of pillows and Marina the Art Doll (who is also a Tart Doll)on display. I'm thinking that obsessive compulsive tendencies are setting in. Like I might be able to fit that kind of attention to detail and energy into my life....
Broadband is back on but the phone is not. So another round with Virgin tomorrow. Tell ya they are going to get busted real soon.

St Patrick's Day

After 35 years, I got up today and made my bed. Laugh, I found my Rosary Beads that I lost two nights ago and had been sleeping on. Mum would have been proud and she probably would have said "you are now an adult!". Be interesting to see how long I can sustain it.

Still having broadband dramas but hoping to have that resolved soon so I can have the phone and internet on at home.

Not doing much surfin due to all the dramas.

Don't give up, I'm coming back with more stories about how to care for your new apartment and hints and tips on how to make a bed in under 1 minute and still arrive at work by 8am..... unflustered.

Antz on Athllon

Sounds like a new night club hey. My Friends from up north have found out where I live and have shifted in big time. Its rather embarrassing, because I had to go and buy ant rid. And I thought living in an apartment mean you didn't interact with beastly insects or the environment and more. How wrong was I?

Canberra Day

I have no idea why am celebrating this day with a holiday, but happy to have the time off work. Went to see my mate with the bung knee and she is not doing so well today. As I put it shes lost her bling. Looks like she might need a blood transfusion.

This arvo, I hope to do some study for my interview on Thursday and sort some of my craft gear out. Also gave the floor its first vacuuming with a ripper little vacuum that has been designed for apartment living. Its really fantastic and bag less. Only $79.

This mosaic was out side the transplant unit at the hospital. The butterfly represents change and the two ribbons are symbolic of recognition as they weave into one life and change colour and life becomes more precious.

Autumn, Lovely Autumn

On queue, the weather changes. Drops 10 degrees all at once and the best season has arrived. I was lying back resting on my lovely bed, fan gently turning above me, after the last few days of constant excitement, dealing with Nanny and moving, then I realised the rain had began. I thought to myself - self, I could almost be back up north, as the sound of 134 cicadas in my left ear were hitting a crescendo. Only thing missing was the 40+ degree heat.

Suffering from technology anxiety at the moment. Learning how to use the dishwasher and the Washing Machine/Dryer combo. I haven't attempted the oven yet, or broadband, or phone connection. I can flutter my eyelashes at theses hunky Croatian men that are still on site helping us maidens to settle in. I had to call one yesterday cos I couldn't empty out the handbasin. It was a small problem of the user having no idea that if a plug is pushed twice then it will pop up and empty the contents of the bowl... mmmm
